Just minding my own business at a signal and a black one pulled up in the next lane. It’s not that bad in black.

It’s best in black because all the ridiculous fake vents are less obvious.

Yeah, definitely. The one I sat in at the auto show was red. I’ve never liked that particular shade of red anyway, but on the R it’s just garish. That black, on the other hand, is also one of my favorite modern Honda colors. Were it not for the paint issues on the older Civics I might have bought a black 2012-13 Si instead of my TSX.

Check your area WiFi networks. If something to the effect of “normal person’s connection” is one of them, yeah, definitely.

This is the correct answer. I’ve seen both the new CTR and Si in black and they honestly look pretty good, the Si moreso.

The Si looks better in general. I surprisingly haven’t seen one in black yet, but I have seen a couple in the nice blue.

Totally agree - but the black takes it a step further by hiding those garish plastic “vents” in the front and rear bumpers.

Yeah. I like how the 9th gen Si looks in black, but the paint issues, especially in the dark colors, kept me from buying one. Ended up with a TSX with essentially the same drivetrain, minus the LSD.

I’m starting to see more and more on the road. I wish the vents were real, but I don’t think it looks bad in white or red either.

Both the ones I’ve seen in the wild have been black. The other one had aftermarket wheels, but it was going the opposite direction on I-95 so I didn’t get a photo. I didn’t like it in red, but I also have never liked that particular shade of red. If they’d gone with Milano Red instead I might have a different opinion.

That’s terrible. I had a few defects in the paint of my old BRZ, I was honestly surprised that Subaru was willing to fix it under warranty. Not a fun problem to have, and though the body shop did a good job, it’s still never the same as a factory finish.

Honda did extend their warranty if the issue came up, but it was only for 7 years and most of the affected cars are now older than that. Actually, when I made this post I was sitting in a parking lot near a black 8th gen Si that had some clear peeled. I should have taken a picture.

Saw my first one in the wild today, black just like that one - they are chunkier in person and that body kit and wheels really are crazy. Bigger looking than I was expecting.

Yeah, it’s a big car in general, pretty much the same size as my TSX. My hairstylist has a regular hatch, and one day I parked next to her to compare them in size. The TSX (which was, mind you, an Accord outside North America) is maybe 6 inches longer. It’s conceivable that the Civic sedan is exactly the same size.
